Radio Jet Proper-motion Analysis of Nine Distant Quasars above Redshift 3.5

چکیده

Up to now, jet kinematic studies of radio quasars have barely reached beyond the redshift range at $z>3.5$. This significantly limits our knowledge high-redshift jets, which can provide key information for understanding nature and growth black holes in early Universe. In this paper, we selected 9 radio-loud $z>3.5$ display milliarcsec-scale morphology. We provided evidence on source by presenting high-resolution very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) images sample 8.4~GHz frequency making spectral index maps. also consider Gaia optical positions that are available 7 out quasars, a better identification components within structures. find 6 sources be classified as core--jet blazars. The remaining 3 objects more likely young, jetted sources, compact symmetric objects. By including multi-epoch archival VLBI data, obtained component proper motions estimated geometric parameters (Doppler factor, Lorentz viewing angle). Our results show $z>3.5$, apparent transverse speeds do not exceed 20 times speed light ($c$). is consistent with earlier quasar measurements literature tendency derived from low-redshift blazars fast ($>40\,c$) only occur low redshifts. paper contribute cosmological evolution AGN.

High-Redshift, Radio-Loud Quasars

I discuss two programs to study radio-loud quasars at high (z ∼ > 4) redshift. Quasars are the most luminous, non-transient objects known and are observed to the earliest cosmic epochs. At lower redshifts, radio-loud quasars are associated with host galaxies having de Vaucoleurs profiles. By association, identifying and studying a sample of high-redshift, radio-loud quasars provides important c...

The Evolution of Radio-Loud Quasars at High Redshift

We present results from two surveys for radio-loud quasars. These are (1) a northern survey reaching S 5GHz = 0:2Jy and (2) the Parkes QSO survey reaching S 2:7GHz = 0:25Jy which together cover most of the sky. Both surveys use digitised plate material to identify the majority of the radio sources and CCD images to identify the optically fainter sources. The northern survey was targeted speciic...

The first estimate of radio jet proper motion at z > 5

The extremely high-redshift (z = 5.3) radio source SDSS J102623.61+254259.5 (J1026+2542) is among the most distant and most luminous radio-loud active galactic nuclei (AGN) known to date. Its one-sided radio jet structure on milliarcsecond (mas) and ∼10-mas scales typical for blazars was first imaged at 5 GHz with very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) in 2006. Here we report on our dual-freq...

X - ray spectral properties of high - redshift radio - loud quasars beyond redshift 4 — first results ⋆

We present the results of X-ray spectroscopic observations with XMM-Newton for four high-redshift radio-loud quasars at z > 4. Among these, three objects, namely, GBB1508+5714, PMNJ0324-2918, and PKSB1251-407 do not show soft X-ray spectral flattening; the derived upper limits on assumed intrinsic absorption are (3.3 − 17.3) × 10 cm, the least of which is among the most stringent limits for z >...
